“Never Been the Right Person”

Former Arsenal defender William Gallas asked his former club to find a replacement for Kai Havertz in the front line.

Talk to Genting CasinoGallas says the German international lacks the qualities necessary to help the Gunners win the Premier League:

“Kai Havertz was never the right person to lead Arsenal to the Premier League title. Havertz is a good player, but he is not a top class player. I’m sorry, but he is still far from world class, Arsenal needs a player to replace him as a striker.”

“The club needs to wake up, this is plain and simple, they need a striker. You need a strong squad to compete against each other, that’s how Man City and Liverpool defend at a high level, if you have the same starting XI every week then the performance level will drop.”

Havertz was not brought to the Emirates to be N0.9

It is worth noting that manager Mikel Arteta initially bought the German international from Chelsea to fill the void left by Granit Xhaka.

However, Havertz looks less comfortable playing in the “advanced 8” position and his best performance while in an Arsenal uniform was as a central striker. He effectively replaced Gabriel Jesus in the starting lineup.

The striker has been one of Arsenal’s best players this season

Gallas was a bit harsh on Havertz when you consider his form over the last few months. He is the club’s top goalscorer, scoring 7 goals in 17 appearances for the Gunners. Bukayo Saka (4) and Gabriel Martinelli (3) are far behind him on the scoresheet.

However, Gallas is right when he says that you need an elite finisher if you want to win the title and Havertz is not that player. We’ll see if the club actually brings in a new No.9 in January or at the end of the season.
