Arsenal will not sign both Martin Zubimendi and Bruno Guimaraes this summer, according to journalist David Ornstein.
The Gunners have been estimated to revive their interest in Newcastle’s Guimaraes in the last few days, but Ornstein does not believe the club will impose a transfer of movement for Brazilian players, especially if Zubimendi also switched to Emirates:
“This is a personal opinion rather than information sourced; I did not see Arsenal signing the second Martin Zubimendi & Bruno Guimaraes. “
“We know the historical link of Guimarães, but the ship seems to have sailed & I am not sure I can imagine Arsenal to pay the type of money to be asked for Newcastle, especially considering he is 28 years old.”
Arsenal fees of at least £ 110 million to sign two midfielders
Zubimendi’s purchase costs are known. Spanish international players have a release clause of € 60 million (£ 50 million) in his contract and Real Sociedad is not expected to receive one cent under that number.
It is unclear what the price requested by Guimaraes. Some reports circulating show that the cost of around £ 60 million can be received by Newcastle but Ornstein’s comments show that the Magpies will want more than that.
Fans must expect “busy summer” in the transfer market
The sports director who entered Andrea Berta was said to have A £ 300 million budget to be spent signing. Asked about the specific number, Ornstein refused to place an estimate on the size of the Kitty Transfer but he said supporters did not care about finances:
“There will definitely be space for maneuvering. I hope this will be a pretty busy summer at Emirates. “
The news will make many people in fanbase disappointed with how the Mikel Arteta team failed in the Premier League of this campaign.
