Arsenal face a top-flight game this weekend when they host league leaders Liverpool on Sunday.
The Gunners will be looking hard not to drop points in two consecutive league games after they lost 2-0 to Bournemouth last weekend in a disappointing night for Mikel Arteta’s side.
They come on the back of a midweek Champions League meeting with Shakhtar Donetsk where they narrowly won 1-0 thanks to an own goal from their opponents’ goalkeeper.
Mikel Arteta could also face some injury problems as the likes of Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, Jurrien Timber and Riccardo Calafiori are all doubts.
Furthermore, centre-back William Lintasa is suspended due to the red card he received last weekend at the Vitality Stadium against Bournemouth. Click here to see our predicted XI for the Gunners for the clash at the Emirates on Sunday.
Arsenal face a high-flying Liverpool side having won seven of their eight Premier League games and the other being a 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest in mid-September.
If the Gunners are to win, they will close the gap to just one point behind Arne Slot’s side when their other title rivals in Manchester City play Southampton on Saturday afternoon.
Arsenal are marginal favorites against the Reds
Despite all the injury concerns, form and Lintasa’s red card, Arsenal are still backed by bookmakers to beat Liverpool on Sunday albeit narrowly.
According to Oddschecker, the Gunners are 8/5 favorites to win which gives them a 38.5% chance of winning. Liverpool are backed to win at 2/1 (33.3%) and a draw is backed at 12/5 (29.4%).
We expect a 1-1 draw in a match where Mikel Arteta may be forced to play defensively due to his squad situation and Liverpool’s ferocious attack.
The place to watch the Gunners host Liverpool
